Kettlebells
Welcome to my page where I explain what kb’s mean to me, how and when I got involved with them and the numerous benefits to using them correctly.
My first experience with kb’s came about when looking for the ultimate conditioning tool to help with my martial arts training. I successfully incorporated them to help my gold medal success at the National Karate Championships with the respected Leeds Karate Team back in 2003 and haven’t looked back since.
In 2009 I became Director of Athletic Performance for Kettlebell Seminars Ltd
with roles as diverse as designing periodised training programs for athletes to reach and maintain their athletic potential to writing fitness articles for national magazines. I developed a range of professional kettlebell dvd’s using my years of experience in the gym to help the strength and conditioning coach fully understand how to incorporate these amazing tools in their clients programs.
In 2010 when looking for a way to bring kb training to the group fitness market and therefore educate more people to the benefits of this training tool I co-founded the internationally recognised fitness program kettlercise. Under this trademarked brand my role as chief faculty instructor to the prestigious Register of Kettlebell Professionals (RKPs) included training and developing new instructors to deliver the best in group fitness training.
I had an ongoing commitment to the instructor network in developing new and exciting programs and in 2012 we launched the H.Core program to the network which took kettlercise and added a turbocharger to it by incorporating more advanced drills and two kettlebells.
Kettlercise is still taught at many fitness facilities around the country today and I’m extremely proud of the legacy I left behind with this fabulous fitness program.
These days I still love teaching individual clients and my small group workshops at Energize Fitness in Harrogate. People are always amazed at how quickly they see results from using this tool especially when they learn the correct technique for the basic movements like the swing.
